For the fourth time in program history, UNC Greensboro men’s basketball is going dancing.

The Southern Conference regular season and tournament champions face off against Florida State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament this Saturday, March 20, at 12:45 p.m.

Here’s what Spartan fans need to know:

What’s at stake

The winner of this contest plays either No. 5 Colorado or No. 12 Georgetown in Monday’s second round. A win against Florida State would make program history – UNCG has never advanced beyond the first round in the NCAA Tournament.

What they’re saying

“I’ve been trying to get back to the NCAA Tournament since my freshman year,”  said UNCG senior guard Isaiah Miller. “It hasn’t been an easy road . . . I’ve been through this my freshman year, but we didn’t get past the first round. I am trying to make history and all my excitement is going to go into my work.”

“This has been a special team to be with because it’s been a difficult year at times,” said Head Coach Wes Miller. “These players have been through so much and sacrificed so much, so it’s definitely felt more adverse than any year in recent history here. To get to where we are now and accomplish what we have accomplished has been extremely rewarding and special for me as a coach.”
