This summer, UNC Greensboro will open its campus to young minds – from gamers to athletes to artists and everything in between – offering more than 15 camps led by world-class faculty, students, and experts.
Camps are designed around a wide variety of interests including sports, music, engineering, writing, coding, and even YouTube streaming.

Herpetological Research Experience
In this residential research-based camp, rising 9th- through 12th-graders work alongside field experts in exploring the vast ecosystem at Chestnut Ridge Camp and Retreat Center. Each morning, students go into the field to catch, catalog, and release various reptiles and amphibians. They will study the inhabitants of ephemeral pools, streams, lakes and hardwood forests. Possible field studies include: water turtles, box turtles, snakes, stream amphibians, ephemeral pool amphibians, and frog calls.

UNCG Esports & Gaming Summer Camp
UNCG is premiering its first-ever Esports & Gaming Summer Camp for 9-14 year-olds. This summer, four one-week camps are being offered on campus in computer labs and the brand new esports arena, a new state-of-the-art 3,300 square feet esports facility. The arena includes more than 36 PCs and four gaming consoles, four large video walls, and eight large-screen video panels to facilitate shared experiences with areas for collaboration and academic instruction.

Youtube Content Creators and Battle Royale Gamers
July 11-15
Make your own Fortnite-style video game, uncover your YouTube personality and presence, build a plan to launch your channel, and learn the do’s and dont’s of the platform.
Esports Apprentice – Streamers and Gamers
July 25-29
Whether you want to be the next pro gamer, streamer, or gamecaster, this course will teach you the basics to get started. Plus, with Unity, an industry grade design software, aspiring game designers will learn level editing, 3D modeling, intermediate event scripting, and the impact of game play on user experience.
Python Coding and Minecraft Engineers
August 1-5
Want to learn the world’s fastest-growing programming language favored by Google, NASA, Youtube, and the CIA? Learn how to code with Python to create engaging apps and games. Plus, take the next step beyond simply “playing” Minecraft and become a true Redstone engineer. Activate your skills and take your Minecraft structures to the next level!
Roblox Coders and Makers
August 8-12
Discover how to code in the Lua language while playing and designing worlds in ROBLOX®. Unlock the power of ROBLOX® Studio, the world creation tool used by real-world ROBLOX® developers! Learn how to build 3D models and create an adventure in your ROBLOX® world. Bring characters to life with unique animations you design. Plus, learn how to navigate Roblox’s fast-growing marketplace to publish their games.

UNCG Summer Music Camp
UNCG’s Summer Music Camp, the largest university music camp in America, is back for 2022. This summer, two one-week camps are being offered, serving over 2,000 musicians, with programs in band, mixed chorus, orchestra, and piano. Camp participants are guided by UNCG School of Music faculty. These faculty instructors are joined by guest teachers, performers, and conductors from across the nation who will ensure that each student receives an unmatched musical education. Ensemble performance is emphasized, but a private lesson in instrument or voice is available to all campers as well. Each camp will conclude on Friday with a concert for parents, relatives, friends, and locals. Overnight students will stay in double occupancy rooms in UNCG residence halls and receive meals in the University Dining Hall. A day camper option is also available if preferred.

UNCG Young Writers’ Camp
Campers at the UNCG Young Writers’ Camp create 21st century texts using digital tools such as storyboarding, blogging, and movie-making during this two week camp experience. In daily writing workshops, campers work with UNCG faculty, graduate students, NC teachers, and local authors. The camp introduces young writers to the writing process, unlocks strategies of professional writers, and supports development of variety of writing styles. All work is published on the website.
The UNCG Young Writers’ Camp is held for two weeks in July, Monday through Friday, July 11-22 and July25-Aug. 5, 9:00 am-12:00 pm on campus. Register here.
Writing and Robotics Camp
Writing and Robots is a one-week intensive, campers will use the Hummingbird Robotics kit to design and build a working robot based on the writing they create or for another story of their choosing. The camp ends with a robot exhibition for family and friends.

Community Voices Summer Writing Camp
Sponsored by Gate City Writes, this free workshop is for teens and adults to write stories about their lives and experiences in the Greensboro community using technology and digital tools. Designed for immigrant and refugee teens in grades 6-12 and adults, participants work with UNCG School of Education faculty and graduate students to write in both their native languages and in English.

DREAM Camp
This day camp, led by UNCG’s psychology department, emphasizes social and communication skills plus friendship development for children and adolescents ages 8-18 with high-functioning autism. In addition, campers will receive developmentally-appropriate life skills training and participate in camp activities, including arts and crafts, musical performances, and sports. Athletic Camps
Be part of a team and improve your athletic skills with UNCG’s Summer Sport Camps, offering training in soccer, volleyball, basketball, and others for participants of all ages. Each sports camp is run independently by the coaching staff. The available 2022 athletic camps can be found here.
Michael Coll Soccer Camps: Soccer Camps for Girls at UNCG
July 9 & June 4
This clinic is designed to provide players aged 14-19 with a preview of what life is like as a college soccer player. Field sessions will consist of positional training (including GK specific training), small-sided games and 11v11 matches. There will also be sessions run by the UNCG Strength & Conditioning Staff, plus a “Choosing a College” forum staffed by current UNCG players, coaches, and other University coaches.

With a camp staff consisting of NCAA Division 1 coaches and also current and former Spartan volleyball players, our goal is to train the highest quality of fundamentals, techniques, and skills to help each camper better themselves and their game. Campers will get individualized feedback along with small group work with campers near their age and skill level for optimal growth.
Trina Patterson Basketball Camps

Join Head Coach Trina Patterson, the UNCG Women’s Basketball Coaching Staff, and members of the UNCG Women’s Basketball Team as they host basketball camps to help campers develop their game. Day camps for young athletes in 1st-8th grade will focus on the Fundamentals of the game such as shooting, ball handling, passing, rebounding and defense with an emphasis put on sportsmanship, teamwork and fun. Activities will consist of games, contests, station work, free throws and more. Elite camp for 9th-12th grade girls will join Coach Patterson and staff and members of the UNCG Women’s Basketball Team as they host a camp geared towards skill development and high level competition.
