Dr.
Denise Tucker is an Assistant
Professor of Audiology in the Department of Communication Sciences and
Disorders in the School of Health and Human Performance at UNCG.
Dr. Tucker joined the faculty at UNCG in
August 1993, having received her Doctorate from the University
of Virginia.
Dr. Tucker is a licensed Audiologist in the State
of North Carolina. She also holds a North Carolina Hearing Aid Dealers and
Fitters License and is certified in Tinnitus
Retraining Therapy (TRT).
Classes taught include: Auditory Electrophysiology (ABR, ECochG, and Otoactoustic
Emissions), Medical Audiology, Introduction to Audiology,
Pediatric Audiology, and Audiology
Clinic.
Research areas of interest
include: Auditory Evoked Responses (Auditory
Middle Latency Response, Brainmapping) and Tinnitus.
Clinical Teaching: Dr.
Tucker works in the UNCG Speech and Hearing Center, supervising Audiology
Graduate Students. She sees patients for basic
hearing evaluations, hearing aid evaluations, hearing aid fitting, tests
for Central Auditory Processing, and evaluation and treatment
of Tinnitus
Dr. Tucker loves to grow English Roses and Heirloom Roses. Several of them are found throughout her web
page.
Dr. Tucker also loves Pre-Raphaelite art work. Paintings of Waterhouse and Alma-Tadema
are her favorites!
