DR. JANET BOSEOVSKI (Ph.D., Queen's University)

Janet is an Associate Professor in the Psychology Department at UNCG.
She is interested in how children learn to make personality judgments
about other people (e.g., niceness; meanness; intelligence) and how
they decide who is a trustworthy source of knowledge about the social
and natural world. Janet’s research has been published in professional
academic journals such as Child Development and Developmental
Psychology, and her work has been supported by the National Institute
of Child Health and Human Development. In her spare time, Janet enjoys
practicing Ashtanga yoga and taking long hikes in the mountains of
North Carolina, both of which justify her tendency to devour the
fabulous baked goods that seem to find their way into the lab and her
home. She also enjoys entertaining and feeding her cats Alvin, Pickle,
and Baldwin, who share their owner’s penchant for sweets.

DR. STUART MARCOVITCH (Ph.D., University of Toronto)

Stuart is an Associate Professor and Head of the Psychology
Department at UNCG.
He is interested in the development of learning and memory processes,
with a particular emphasis on individuals’ ability to control their own
behavior. His work has been published in
professional academic journals such as Child Development and
Developmental Science, and he is currently serving a term as Associate
Editor of the APA journal Developmental Psychology. Stuart
spends his spare time cheering for losing
sports teams, catering to his cats, and indulging in his students'
delicious baked goods.

KELSEY MCKINNEY | E-mail
Kelsey is a lab veteran, but in her first year as
the lab manager. She is a senior Psychology major with a minor
in Human Development
& Family Studies. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a
graduate degree for a career counseling young adults with substance
abuse and addiction. She enjoys running, coffee, hot yoga, chocolate,
and spending time with my family and friends.

CHRIS ERB, PH.D. | E-mail
Chris is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the DUCK lab who completed his
doctorate at Brown University in Providence, RI. His research focuses
on (a) how children develop the capacity to control their ongoing
thoughts and actions, and (b) how children learn and reason about cause
and effect. Outside of the lab, Chris enjoys cooking, reading, hiking,
and browsing architecture websites. He is also currently trying to
learn how to play the piano.

CANDACE LAPAN, M.A. | E-mail
Candy is a 7th year graduate student in the DUCK lab. Her research
interests include children's personality judgments of others, social
comparison behaviors, and emotional processes. Candy hopes to become a
university professor after completing graduate school. Outside of the
lab, she likes to sing, play guitar, knit/crochet, scrapbook, and have
fun with her zoo of animals including 3 cats, 3
dogs, and many fish!

DELANEY BIVENS, B.A. | E-mail
Delaney is a 2nd year graduate student in the DUCK lab. She is
interested in studying self-regulation, goals and motivation, and
self-complexity (or, more broadly, self-concept structure). After
attaining her Ph.D., she hopes to teach in the university setting and
continue to pursue research. Outside of the lab, she enjoys volleyball,
reading, crocheting creative hats, and theatre. |
JESSICA CAPARASO, B.A. | E-mail
Jessica is a 2nd year graduate student in the DUCK Lab seeking her MA.
Jessica is interested in studying cognitive control of behavior and how
it relates to children's behavior in social settings. Her hobbies
include playing and coaching field hockey, baking, and going on
adventures around Greensboro and NC with her husband. |
KIMBERLY MARBLE, B.A. | E-mail
Kimmy is a 2nd year graduate student with the DUCK Lab. Her research
interests include how children make social judgments in social and
cultural domains, how children evaluate expertise and learning
experiences, and how cognitive abilities may influence these types of
judgments. After completing graduate school, Kimmy hopes to continue
her research as a university professor. Outside of the lab, she enjoys
baking and cooking with her recently adopted kitten, Gilbert (named
after developmental psychologist Dr. Gilbert Gottlieb). |
ELIZABETH MCQUAIG, B.A. | E-mail
Elizabeth is a 1st year graduate student in the DUCK Lab. She
is interested in conscious control of behavior, the ability to
recognize that others have different emotions from oneself, and
positivity bias. Her research is focused on hands-on interventions to
improve children's abilities in these areas. After completing graduate
school, she hopes to continue her research and teach in the university
setting. Outside of the lab, she enjoys reading, baking sweets, and
spending time with her two tiny dogs. |

AMBER CAMPOS
Amber is a junior Psychology major. She plans to attend graduate school
in order to study behavioral neuroscience. In her spare time she enjoys
reading, drawing, collecting trinkets, making lame jokes, and playing
with her cat, Dudley. |

TAYLOR CARRINGTON
Taylor is a recent graduate of Elon University, and is in her first
semester as a volunteer researcher in the lab. She received her B.A. in
Psychology and had minors in Human Services and Religious Studies. she
hopes to study school psychology in graduate school. In her free time,
she enjoys spending quality time with friends and making recipes found
on the Buzzfeed Facebook page. |

SKYLER FERGUSON
Skyler is a senior Human Development and Family Studies major with a
minor in Psychology. After graduation, she will be teaching middle
school English. In her free time, she enjoys creative writing, reading,
and watching YouTube or Netflix. |

KARA LOWERY
Kara is a senior Psychology major with a minor in Biology. After
graduation, she hopes to study cognitive neuroscience in graduate
school. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing guitar, watching
Netflix, and spending time with friends and family. |

Sarah is a senior Psychology major with minors in Chemistry and
Spanish. After graduation, she hopes to study child clinical psychology
in graduate school. She enjoys spending most of her free time playing
with her puppy, Max, and reading outside under the sun. |

HYE LIM SHIN
Hye Lim is a senior in the D.U.C.K. lab. She is currently pursuing her
second degree in Psychology and plans to continue her studies in
graduate school. Her goal is to help people through research and
counseling. She likes doing yoga, running, snowboarding, reading books
and playing Haegum (a Korean traditional instrument) in her free time.
She also enjoys spending time with family and teaching students. |

Natalie is a sophomore Psychology major. She plans on going to graduate
school to pursue school counseling. She enjoys hiking, babysitting,
cooking/baking, and rock music. |

Valeriya is a junior Psychology major with a minor in French. After
graduation, she plans to pursue a graduate degree in Social Psychology
and possibly work abroad. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling,
shopping, and spending time with her younger siblings. |

to work in psychological research for a year before attending
graduate school for Industrial Psychology or Forensic Psychology. Her
