Two UNCG students hold up their Golden Chain Society certificates.

Faculty and staff are invited to nominate outstanding juniors and seniors for UNC Greensboro’s Golden Chain Honor Society, which was organized in 1948 to recognize students who have made significant and meaningful contributions to the university community.

Golden Chain is now accepting applications for Spring 2025 inductions. Candidates must be juniors or seniors with a minimum 3.25 GPA. The nomination form can be found here.

Nominations are due before midnight on March 17.

“Golden” denotes excellence and rarity, and “chain” signifies linkage – a binding together of past generations of students who served the University with students of today and those generations yet to come. The organization is unique to the UNC Greensboro campus. Members embody the characteristics of leadership, scholarship, service, tolerance, judgement, magnanimity, and character.

Nominations may be submitted by UNCG faculty, staff, Golden Chain alumni, and honorary members. Please contact Meredith Atchison at m_atchis@uncg.edu with any questions.
