Each year, the dedication of UNCG employees becomes obvious in the accolades for which they get nominated. UNCG Human Resources (HR) invites everyone to congratulate those who were nominated or awarded various honors this past year:

Governor’s Award for Excellence

The Governor’s Award for Excellence is the highest honor a state employee may receive for dedicated service above and beyond the call of duty to the State of North Carolina and its residents​. The winner will be honored this fall.

HR is excited to announce this year’s nominees:

Eloise Hassell, J.D., Department of Management
Jennifer Boggs, Special Events
Steve Morley, Ph.D., Facilities Design and Construction
Sara MacSween, DBA, Department of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality, and Tourism

Gladys Strawn Bullard Award

Additionally, HR congratulates the recipient’s of the previous year’s Gladys Strawn Bullard Award.

This award was established to recognize and reward members of the student body, faculty, and staff who provide outstanding leadership and service to the University. 

The 2025 winners are: 

Kimberly Cuny, MA, MFA, College of Arts and Sciences
Elizabeth Todd , Bryan School of Business and Economics
Kennedy Strong , School of Health and Human Sciences
