A new chapter in student success is taking shape at UNC Greensboro, and now it has a name.

Meet Minerva360, UNCG’s new campus-wide student success platform, scheduled to launch in Fall 2027.

Replacing Starfish, Minerva360 will bring academic advising, early alerts, student communication, and coordinated support together in one platform, helping faculty and staff work more collaboratively to support students throughout their academic journeys.

“When we ask students what would make their experience better, they consistently tell us they want it to be easier to find help, easier to connect with the right people, and easier to navigate a University as complex as UNCG,” says Vice Provost for Retention and Student Success Regina McCoy. “Minerva360 is an investment in delivering exactly that. It helps us work together across offices so students don’t have to figure everything out on their own, and it allows us to provide support earlier, more intentionally, and in a way that recognizes each student as a whole person.”

What’s in a Name?

Inspired by Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom and learning and a familiar symbol of UNCG, the name reflects the University’s commitment to guiding students toward academic success.

The “360” represents a more holistic, connected approach to student support that recognizes the many people, offices, and experiences that contribute to a student’s success.

Together, Minerva360 reflects a shared commitment to seeing the whole student and connecting them with the right support at the right time.

A More Connected Student Experience

Minerva360 will offer new and enhanced tools to help faculty, advisors, and student support professionals identify student needs, communicate more effectively, and coordinate support.

Among its capabilities, the platform will:

  • Strengthen proactive student support through enhanced early alerts and predictive analytics that help identify students who may benefit from additional outreach.
  • Improve coordination and collaboration by bringing advising information, referrals, and student support activities into a shared system.
  • Simplify communication and connections through targeted messaging, integrated appointment scheduling, and tools that make it easier for students to access support.
  • Expand access to information through a virtual assistant that helps students find answers to common questions and connect with campus resources.

These tools will help create a more coordinated experience for students while giving faculty and staff additional ways to support their success.

Looking Ahead to Fall 2027

Implementation of Minerva360 is underway and will continue throughout the 2026–27 academic year.

Over the coming months, the project team will work with campus partners to configure the platform, develop processes, and prepare faculty and staff for its launch. Opportunities to learn more, provide feedback, and participate in demonstrations and training will be shared as implementation progresses.

While the launch is still a year away, the work happening now is laying the foundation for a more connected, proactive approach to student success at UNCG.

Minerva360 is coming. Stay connected as we build what’s next. Visit the project website to learn more about Minerva360 and follow implementation updates.
