Learn about the new requirements in upcoming information sessions.
University leadership has approved a new policy that governs the management of official social media accounts for business and academic units.
Account administrators are invited to attend information sessions this fall to better understand the new requirements and related resources provided by University Communications.
Morgan Glover, director of social media strategy, will offer two sessions to familiarize faculty and staff with the recently approved social media policy and procedures. The first one will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 18 for current members of the UNCG Social Media Managers group. The second is open to all faculty and staff and will take place 10-11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 25. Register for that session using this link. Both sessions will be recorded.
In addition, University Communications has published two resources for account administrators. An updated social media strategy worksheet and a social media accessibility checklist are available on the department’s Social Media Resources webpage. Glover and Melanie Eley, digital accessibility manager in ITS, will offer a training session 2-3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, as part of the University’s efforts to comply with federal accessibility regulations.
