Table for two! Staff served up delicious French cuisine to students who cashed in their rewards for a chance to win a seat at this special dining event. It was an opportunity to enjoy delicious food and spend time with a significant other or campus friend.

Dr. Hughes Gives NBA Star an Assist With Old Salem Research

Retiring basketball star Chris Paul is related to the 19th century Moravian potter Peter Oliver, whose story of securing his freedom from slavery and becoming a skilled artisan intersects with Dr. Geoffrey Hughes’ research into kilns at Old Salem. On Feb. 22, Hughes will take part in a free screening of the Finding Your Roots episode about Paul and Oliver, with a panel discussion and reception to learn more.

This year, the Southern Conference chose Dr. Janet Boseovski, professor of psychology; and Jessica Quattrucci, academic advisor for the Bryan School of Business and Economics, as representatives of UNCG on the All-Conference Faculty and Staff Team. They were honored at the men’s basketball Feb. 4 game.

Hansen Performing Arts Collection Continues to Strengthen Theatre Education

Dr. Robert Hansen, retired associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences, donated his extensive performing arts collection to UNCG Archives and established an endowed fund to preserve it. Today, the collection spans thousands of valuables and continues to support students through the Robert C. Hansen Scholarship for aspiring theatre arts educators.

Twenty-seven Spartans—most from the School of Health and Human Sciences—challenged themselves to write a paper worthy of a top journal in just days instead of the traditional months. With the help of experts from ReVel Collab, they spent their winter break learning new ways to analyze research and increase their chances of getting published.
