The post-baccalaureate certificate in Health and Wellness Coaching prepares students for effective professional practice and the eligibility to apply for a national certifying exam to become a certified health and wellness coach.

The health and wellness coaching profession has emerged to address an urgent and widespread need to help people increase the quality and the number of years of a healthy life.

The Student Experience

  • The 9-credit hour program will introduce students to evidence-based methods and techniques that help clients build self-confidence and self-management skills while addressing their personal barrier, identifying their own solutions and achieving their health & wellness goals.
  • Once students complete the requirements for the certificate, they are eligible to apply to become a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) established by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC); and Board Certified Coach (BCC) through the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE).
  • Students may work with and provide programming for other campus units like Healthy UNCG.

After Graduation

  • After completing the Post Baccalaureate in Health & Wellness Coaching, students will be prepared to join for profit, non-profit, state, federal, and global organizations who aim to provide community members with health and wellness support through using evidence-based health coaching strategies.
