Post-Bachelor's Certificate in Workplace Wellness

The Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Workplace Wellness at UNC Greensboro prepares people to work with employers, employees, policy-makers, or brokers/consultants to improve the safety, health, and well-being of employees. Students learn to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate workplace wellbeing and safety initiatives from professionals in the field.

Graduates are qualified for employment in health systems, private companies, city and county governments, universities, and workplace wellness consulting companies. This certificate enhances qualifications for expanded job options among students with degrees in health education, exercise science, nutrition, nursing, gerontology, interior architecture, community recreation, and business administration.

Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Workplace Wellness Program Distinctions

The Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Workplace Wellness at UNCG is offered in person and online. It offers experiential learning throughout the coursework. The program finishes with either a practicum or internship.

The Program is a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Total Worker Health® Affiliate. It is committed to education, practice, research, and strategic collaborations that will contribute to protecting and promoting worker well-being.

Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Workplace Wellness Student Experience

The program consists of 9 credit hours. Upon enrollment students will submit a plan of study that will detail the sequence and completion of courses.

While earning their Post Baccalaureate Certificate, students will work full- or part-time, including during the practicum requirements. We work with each student and practicum site to make sure everyone gets a valuable experience that prepares them for their next career step.

Enrolled students will:

• Learn the history of workplace safety and health promotion.
• Be introduced to the CDC Total Worker Health® framework.
• Learn strategies for conducting organizational assessments.
• Design, implement, and evaluate workplace interventions.

Enrolled students will also complete practical experiences. Graduating students will leave with confidence to lead Total Worker Health initiatives in workplaces.

After Receiving a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Workplace Wellness

Apply to the Certificate in Workplace Wellness Program

Interested applicants should apply to the UNCG Graduate School. Additional information to know:

• Formal applications to the UNCG Graduate School Applications are reviewed twice annually.
  • Application deadlines are Dec. 1 and April 1.
• An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • GPA of 2.8 or higher in the undergraduate degree is required for P.B.C. admission
  • Must submit official transcripts for all undergraduate work
• A Personal Statement of Purpose is required.
• No test or GRE required.
• Students entering as P.B.C. are not eligible for financial aid.
