BAchelor’s in Information Technology Training and Development Program Distinctions

UNCG’s BSIS in Information Technology Training and Development concentration prepares students not only to understand technology, but to help organizations implement, teach, and maximize it. Through a unique blend of information science, technology, and instructional design, students learn how to connect people with information and technology in meaningful ways.

Many IT programs focus on networking, cybersecurity, systems administration, software development, or technical infrastructure. The IT Training and Development concentration focuses on:

  • Technology training
  • User education
  • Information organization
  • Knowledge management
  • Helping people effectively use technology and information systems

The BSIS program is one of only two offered among North Carolina public universities.

The IT Training and Development Student Experience

Students in the BSIS Information Technology Training and Development concentration receive a hands-on, interdisciplinary, and highly personalized experience. Rather than spending most of their time in programming labs or studying network infrastructure, students learn how technology, information, and people interact in organizations.

This program allows students to achieve real-world experience through internships, complete an original research capstone project, and access mentorship from faculty members.
