The UNCG School of Nursing Graduate Certificate programs allow registered nurses to further their knowledge in the following areas: Advanced Practice Core (Advanced Pathophysiology, Advanced Pharmacology, and Advanced Health Assessment) and Nursing Leadership and Management. All courses are offered online. Credits earned in the certificate program may be used to meet requirements in a degree program in accordance with the policies of The Graduate School. 

Program Distinctions

  • The School of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • The School of Nursing is recognized by the National League for Nursing as a Center for Excellence in Nursing Education.
  • Completion of a certificate demonstrates advanced knowledge in leadership in the clinical setting and provides a foundation for continued education in advanced practice roles.

The Student Experience

  • All courses are online and designed for working professionals.
  • Students work with preceptors in their local area to complete clinical experiences as applicable.
  • Students have the opportunity to interact frequently with faculty.

After Graduation

Upon completion, students will have additional skills to enhance their leadership and clinical practice and may transfer the credit earned to advanced degree programs. Graduates will be prepared for entry- to mid-level administrative positions in nursing and health care. They will be ready to serve as leaders in acute care, primary care, and community settings.
