About

Dr. Jin Su joined the Department of Consumer, Apparel, and Retail Studies (CARS) at UNCG in 2016. She is passionate about researching the dynamics in the textile, apparel, fashion, and retail industries with a strong focus on sustainability. Specifically, Dr. Su’s research interests include apparel global sourcing and supply chain management, fashion brand marketing, and sustainable consumer behavior.

Dr. Su has published many peer-reviewed journal articles in high impact journals, including Clothing & Textiles Research Journal, Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management, Social Responsibility Journal, International Journal of Retail & Distribution Management, International Journal of Consumer Studies, Young Consumers, Journal of Consumer Marketing, Journal of Product & Brand Management, Industrial Management & Data Systems, Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics, Family and Consumer Sciences Research Journal, The Journal of The Textile Institute, etc. Dr. Su co-edited a book entitled Chinese Consumers and the Fashion Market. In addition, she has presented over 100 papers at national and international conferences. Dr. Su has served as the Co-Chair of the Conference Abstract and Paper Review Committee for International Textile and Apparel Association (ITAA) and Chair of the Textile and Apparel Industries Track for ITAA conferences. She also served on the Editorial Board for Clothing and Textiles Research Journal and is serving on the Editorial Advisory Board for Young Consumers.

Dr. Su is dedicated to undergraduate and graduate student mentoring and advising, and she has served as a major professor for many master’s and doctoral students. She is serving/served as the Dissertation Committee Chair/Co-Chair for seven doctoral students.

The quality and impact of Dr. Su’s research were recognized by prestigious awards (e.g., ITAA Paper of Distinction Award in 2020 and 2023 and Most Promising New Research Award in 2019). In 2023, Dr. Su received the prestigious ITAA Mid-Career Excellence Award due to her record of productive, independent, and impactful peer-reviewed research.
