These university vendors or contractors are only permitted to use personal information for the express purposes permitted in their agreement with the University.
We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website by identifying (1) which parts of our site are most heavily used, and (2) which portion of our audience comes from within the UNC Greensboro network. We do not link IP addresses to personally identifiable information. This means that user sessions will be tracked, but the users will remain anonymous.
The email address and other information you submit through any online forms or applications on the uncg.edu site may be used to send you information, process applications, orders and services, respond to inquiries, engage with social media platforms, and/or facilitate other university or other services available to you, including marketing, promotion opportunities, and sending you tailored proposals, appeals, and requests for donations.
IPs and other tracking information, such as web beacons/pixel tags, log files, and other technologies, may be collected by third-party services and used for the purpose of analytics and ad campaign tracking. We may also provide your information to third parties in circumstances in which we believe doing so is necessary or appropriate to: manage and deliver the best user experience; provide, customize, and personalize communications and market our activities to you; satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues; or protect the rights, property, or safety of the University, its students, employees, and constituents, users of uncg.edu, or others.

The University uses tools like Google Analytics, a service of Google, to collect this data and information through cookies. Please note that NC public records law requires UNC Greensboro to disclose, to anyone who asks, any records that the University has made or received in the course of conducting state business unless there is a specific legal basis for maintaining the privacy of the requested records.
