Dear Colleagues,
I am thrilled to announce the newest addition to UNC Greensboro’s Enrollment Management Division, Dr. Dawn Herrod, who will be joining us as the Director of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. With an impressive 28 years of experience across the breadth of the financial aid field, Dawn comes to us from the University of Central Florida (UCF), where she has played a pivotal role in shaping the financial aid landscape for over two decades.
Dawn is currently leading all Functional Systems responsibilities for UCF Student Financial Assistance. In this role, her influence touches tens of thousands of students and spans the entire spectrum of financial aid, including Verification, State and Federal Grants, Pell Grants, Institutional and Private Scholarships, Federal and Private Loans, Athletics, Satisfactory Academic Progress, and more.
During her tenure at UCF, Dawn witnessed the institution’s remarkable growth from 18,000 to 70,000 students. Her advocacy for technology adoption streamlined financial aid processes, contributing to her department’s success amid rapid institutional change. Likewise, her comprehensive experience positions her well to guide UNCG through the forthcoming changes from FAFSA Simplification.
Dawn is not only a change agent but also a dedicated leader invested in staff development and fostering diverse thinking within her team. She looks forward to contributing to UNCG’s commitment to access and diversity.
