History of UNCG

UNCG is one of the original three UNC System institutions. From 1891-1963, it was the only public college for women in North Carolina, and one of the premier institutions for women in the country.

Strategic Plan

UNC Greensboro’s new strategic plan — Forward Together — charts our path to 2030 with three pillars of focus: ensuring student success and upward mobility, enhancing research excellence and creative activity, and achieving operational excellence and responsible stewardship.

Access, Excellence, and Inclusion

UNC Greensboro’s mission is to provide access and opportunities to those from NC and beyond and to do so in an inclusive and welcoming environment. As a minority- serving institution, UNCG takes pride in providing access and opportunity to individuals from underrepresented and historically marginalized groups. UNCG is committed to both access and excellence, which reflects our mission and values.
