In partnership with the Student Government Association (SGA), Parking Operations & Campus Access Management (POCAM) is announcing the return of the Food for Fines initiative. From October 23 through November 3, POCAM-issued parking tickets with fines of $50 or less, issued on or after August 1, 2023, may be forgiven with the donation of canned or dried foods. Up to two tickets per person may be forgiven.

  • Three items: $15 forgiven
  • Six items: $35 forgiven
  • Nine items: $50 forgiven

Dented cans will not be accepted, nor any foods with an expiration date less than a month away. A list of acceptable donation items can be found here. All donations benefit the Spartan Open Pantry.

Donations can be delivered to POCAM’s Walker Deck office during normal business hours, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This initiative does not apply to parking tickets issued by law enforcement or the City of Greensboro, nor does it apply to parking tickets amounting to more than $50.
