The funding is part of the NC Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) and North Carolina Collaboratory’s $6.73 million investment in 20 projects rooted at universities across North Carolina.

Subtlety, humor, empathy, and accuracy are often difficult to convey when interpreting from one language to another. Juliette Vayer will tell you that these key skills in American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting, along with advocating for the Deaf community, are part of what compelled her to earn her Bachelor of Science in Interpreting, Deaf Education, and Advocacy (IDEAS) from the School of Education this December. UNCG’s program is the only public four-year program of its kind in North Carolina.
New ‘rescue fund’ helps Spartans stay in school

The Seeker Rescue Fund at UNC Greensboro will provide relief to students whose education may be at risk due to a short-term lack of resources. Susan Seeker Jones ’78 and Jim Jones Jr. hope that their $125,000 gift will inspire others to support UNCG’s scholars.

UNC Greensboro is partnering with the Greensboro (NC) Chapter of The Links, Inc., and the United States Tennis Association (USTA) of Greensboro to collect toys for The Family Room Triad. Help by donating new, unwrapped toys for children aged 4 to 16 years old. Bring your donation to the Toys for Joy Parade on UNCG’s campus on December 12 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Learn more here.
