Have You Considered a Master's Degree in Applied Economics?

Fall 2005 Master of Arts Class

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro’s Department of Economics has a unique commitment to a three-semester master's program that emphasizes highly marketable, applied research skills. More than 100 students have graduated from our program since 2000.

The MA program in Applied Economics is a critical part of our department's teaching and research mission. Students work closely with and have access to our research/teaching faculty. While undergraduate programs in economics provide an important introduction to economic theory and statistical methods, our MA students acquire additional training and experience in the application of theory and econometrics so they can pursue careers as business and financial analysts, researchers, and consultants. Graduates of our program enter the job market at excellent salaries.

Although most of our students are interested in a terminal, professional degree, each year a few choose to continue their studies at the doctoral level at other universities or in our Ph.D. program which began in the Fall 2004.
