The MSITM program at UNCG focuses both on information technology and the management of technology resources. The program combines technological and managerial components to train graduates who can deal effectively with the variety and complexity of issues involved in applying information technology successfully within organizations. The MSITM program seeks to extend both the knowledge of students and their ability to effectively utilize their knowledge in a collaborative work environment. Our curriculum is designed to be flexible, dynamic and provides state-of-the-art exposure to both information technology and management practices. The program is flexible as to allow students to achieve their individual career objectives. The program places an emphasis on problem-solving activities, multi-functional group decision making, and communication skills. In addition to technology and business studies, all students will be required to demonstrate acceptable competence in communication and presentation skills, interpersonal skills, teamwork skills and problem-solving capabilities.
Using problem-solving activities, multi-functional group decision making, communication skills activities, MSITM students develop the knowledge and the skills necessary for employment in collaborative work environments.
The MSITM program is open to students with diverse undergraduate backgrounds. The length of the program can vary from two to four years, depending on the business and information technology background students’ posses and their individual course load. The flexible and dynamic curriculum facilitates students achieving their individual career objectives.
