, is a Research Scientist at the Center for Youth, Family, and Community Partnerships at the University of North Carolina Greensboro where she is currently finishing her doctoral work in Human Development and Family Studies. In her research, Rollins focuses on racial identity and racial socialization among biracial families and youth. She is particularly interested in how racial identity is impacted by racial socialization experiences within families and schools. Her research interests are grounded in a commitment to educating parents and enhancing the lives of children, improving race relations and cross-cultural understanding, and promoting the acceptance of differences as the strength of humanity. Her research experiences include several projects with Guilford Child Developments’ Head Start and Early Head Start programs, providing training and technical assistance to center directors, teachers, family advocates, and educational facilitators, as well as extensive qualitative and quantitative community based investigations with schools, youth, and adults. She is currently the project coordinator for Ready Together; a community based parenting education and intervention evaluation and IN-STEP, a training and technical assistance project aimed at enhancing classroom quality in Head Start classrooms in Guilford County.
