Podcasting
Jing Project
Note: Jing Project is a software that must be downloaded to your computer. The software is not approved for use on UNCG computers.
- Works with both PC and Mac.
- Enables capture of onscreen action (mouse movements) and narration.
- With the free version, can create up to 5 minutes of video at a time and have 2 gigabytes of space.
- Supports hosting and subscription by the public via screencast.com. (can be searched and accessed by the public - potential FERPA issues).
- File format is Flash. To post to Blackboard, see your HHS ITC.
See the Jing Help Center. An excellent set of brief how-to movies.
Notes:
- Jing Project is great for demonstrating how to use or accomplish tasks in any software (SPSS for example) on your computer or on the web.
- Jing Project would be useful for demonstrating a problem solution or critiquing a written document.
- Jing Project can be used to narrate PowerPoint presentations and save as Flash.
- It is not possible to post Jing Project presentations to the Blackboard podcast tool because the latter does not support Flash.
- New feature: send the presentation URL directly to Twitter.
