Nancy
Borum
Nancy Borum, founder and CEO of ID Collaborative, began her career 25 years
ago as in-house designer for RJR Nabisco in Winston-Salem, NC. With
the corporate downsizing trend of the 1980s, Ms. Borum elected in 1986 to
establish her own design firm to serve the corporate and medical communities. Since
that time, the firm has continued to experience steady growth, and its portfolio
now includes projects spanning from Toronto, Canada to Port Charlotte, Florida. ID
Collaborative established its name in the Senior Living Market in 1995 specializing
in the CCRC industry with full-scale design and procurement of FF&E
for such projects as Well-Spring in Greensboro, NC; Woodland Terrace in
Cary, NC; Magnolia Glen in Raleigh, NC; and The Fountains in Melbourne,
Florida. Most recently Ms. Borum’s firm has begun working with
Wellstone Communities and Dr. Kenneth Cooper to develop new “lifestyle” communities
at Craig Ranch north of Dallas, Texas; Wellstone Middlecreek north of Atlanta,
Georgia; and Wellstone Creekside in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The firm
has also recently begun projects with Steven D. Bell & Company and Bell
Senior Living based in Greensboro, NC.
Nancy is committed to the design profession and to her local community. She has been a member of the executive boards of both ASID and IIDA and has served as visiting professor for the design department at UNC-Greensboro. ID Collaborative, Inc. has won numerous design awards in the senior industry including two NAHB design excellence awards as well as three features in the Design for Senior Environments 2003 and 2004 publications. Ms. Borum was a recipient of the 2005 ‘Women in Business’ Award, and in September, 2007 ID Collaborative, Inc. will be featured in The Business Journal as one of the Fast 50, the fifty fastest growing privately held companies in the Piedmont Triad region of NC.
Ms. Borum is married with three children and enjoys running, hiking, skiing, reading, cooking and gardening in her spare time.
