Exercise Physiology (the study of how exercise effects the functions of the body) unites students with a shared interest and curiosity about physical activity despite differing career and professional aspirations.
The knowledge gained in the academic field of Kinesiology may be acquired through experiencing physical activity, scholarly study of physical activity and professional practice centered in physical activity.
Educating the community, including patients, clients, athletes, and children on how to employ physical activity to improve performance, health and well being, relies on application of knowledge gained by professionals in the area of exercise physiology.
The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is part of the University of North Carolina system and student enrollment is approximately 17,000 students, 3,500 of which are graduate students. The Department of Kinesiology offers a graduate program at both the master’s and doctoral levels.
