Additional Admission Requirements for the College of Arts and Sciences

Return to Schools Menu

In addition to the University’s General Education Core (GEC) course requirements, students with majors in the College of Arts and Sciences’s B.A. and B.S. degree programs must complete the College’s Additional Requirements (CAR). As a part of CAR, students are required to complete intermediate-level proficiency in a foreign language through the UNCG 204 level. Most suggested curriculum plans encourage students to complete two (2) years of foreign language courses. If a student begins with the intermediate level of foreign language, he or she is encouraged to complete college transfer elective courses to fulfill the degree requirements for the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree.

Admission is by personal interview or group orientation only, and transfers must have a 2.50 transferable GPA for admission.
